The local’s story & recommendations
When I visit Shanghai, I never miss the street foods. I recommend to go the restaurant chains because that’s where the locals eat as well:
Yang's Fried Dumpling 小杨生煎 (No.678 Shannxi North Road, Jingan District)
Malatang 麻辣烫 (I usually go to Shudimaocai 蜀地冒菜 to eat it. The location is Shanxi North Rd,63 陕西北路63号)
They are on the same street so it’s easy to find.
Wander around the Wukang Road and Sinan Road:
Wukang Road has 37 historical buildings.
Sinan Road is used to be a road in the French Concession.
There are different styles of buildings on both streets that reflecting the history of Shanghai, and there are many former residences of Chinese celebrities. There are also some antique shops and coffee shops along the streets.
Many locals think that the history and romance of Shanghai can be found here, especially when the leaves of the autumn phoenix tree turn yellow.
Visit Aurora Art Museum on Friday night because they open until 21:00 only on that day. You will also look over the other side of the Huangpu river at night.
The museum is well designed and has a wide collections of Jades and Blue white porcelains. The museum’s layout and lighting create a mysterious atmosphere.
